I volunteered at JenCare in Morrow and it was THE BEST experience. Great teamwork. And awesomely grateful patients. I will definitely do it again!

Had a lovely experience on 9/28/19 Free Dental for Underserve Seniors. The event drew a large crowd of seniors. The staff were professional and very lovely. The dentist was very kind and sweet with my 89 yo mom. Thank you to all the … More sponsors who made this event happen! Thank you to all the volunteers too.

My 70-year old aunt was a patient at the spotlight on oral health free dental event held by Global Foundation for Dental Healthcare and Awareness, Inc. on 9/28/2019.
She had been experiencing pain from an abscessed tooth for over 2-years.
… More She was rinsing her mouth out daily with peroxide and constantly taking antibiotics and pain pills while trying to save up some money to go to the dentist. Her gums were always swollen and many days she couldn’t even eat. She lost a total of 25 pounds. Almost twice a week the infection became so bad that she would have to press on her gums to squeeze the pus out to get relief; unfortunately, she do not have dental insurance. She is the wife of a retired veteran. Often times she would go to the emergency room to get pain pills and antibiotics to keep her going. Thanks be to God that I met Felicia Williams at an event that was held by the United Way of Greater Atlanta in Duluth, GA and she shared her nonprofit organization with me.
My aunt mentioned that she have never met so many loving and caring people in her entire 70 years of life. They did not rush her like she used to feel when she used to go to the dentist office years ago. They took their precious time and educated her; she felt like she had been sitting in somebody’s classroom when she left out of the room; full of great knowledge. She also had an opportunity to write stuff down to help her remember the things that she should and should not do.
The dentist took his time and pulled her tooth. He educated her on what she needed to do to prevent this from happening again. They also gave out a nice bag of dental products; a tube of Crest Gum Detoxify toothpaste, a nice expensive toothbrush, and some dental floss. This was the BEST dental experience for her.

I am a senior and wife of a retired veteran who served 30-years in the army. I was in total tears of joy to know that there is an organization out there that provides free dental care to seniors that can not afford to pay. My income is … More $1,400 a month and after I pay my mortgage and buy food for the month, I don’t have anything leftover to think about trying to fix my mouth. The people from this organization is a real Blessing to our community.
